Alan has been in the transport industry most of his adult life, despite leaving school with 10 O ’levels, 2 A 'Levels and a career in electronics, there was diesel in his blood as his father had been a lorry driver.Alan obtained his Class 1 in 1973 and drove a selection of vehicles on UK general haulage before progressing to European work. In the late seventies Alan also drove to the Middle East when it was in its heyday.Alan obtained his Transport Management CPC National & International in 1980 and started as a Transport manager for the firm he was driving for.After decades in the transport industry including 15 years in chemical Tankers as transport manager and DGSA Alan has always kept on top of legislation.Alan realises how important it is to keep up to date with legislation and other Health & Safety changes as in his career he has seen many changes and it is a completely different world as to when he started driving.Alan is very passionate about education and his favourite quote is “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world” (Nelson Mandela)After starting his own Consultancy and Training Company Alan has provided DCPC, Chemical Awareness, Fire Marshall and First Aid Training for many clients including Wedge Group, Travis Perkins, ASDA, Yodel, Co-Op and Clipper Logistics, along with apprenticeship training and End point Assessments.Alan has excellent feedback from all his courses with candidates saying he is very knowledgeable and has an exceptionally good way of teaching and making the courses enjoyable.Alan also sits as vice-chairman on the Board of Governors at his local school and attends and participates in all the Inset teacher training days.In his own words “I'm not retiring anytime soon; I don’t play Golf and I’m no good at gardening”
